Our area power rankings

Redwood remains No. 1, with the top eight unchanged. Newly posted wins over Golden West move Tulare Western to No. 9. Whitney sits at No. 10, ahead of Golden West, while continuing to lead West Yosemite at 8–0.

Close calls and reporting notes

Tulare Western’s newly posted 18–10 and 17–7 wins over Golden West strengthen its case enough to move ahead of Whitney in our assessment. Whitney retains the edge over Golden West through its 9–7 head-to-head win and unbeaten league run. These comparisons are close: Golden West has beaten Lemoore twice, while Lemoore has beaten both Whitney and Tulare Western twice. No single result settles the entire order.

RankSchoolReported W–LWhy this position
Redwood varsity19–6The 11–7 win over Porterville gives Redwood two wins in their three meetings. Four tournament wins followed, then a 21–5 win over Lemoore. Its October 22 result against Mission Oak is not yet posted.
Porterville19–6Responded to the Redwood loss by beating Mission Oak 24–5 and Tulare Western 21–12. Wins over Bakersfield and Kingsburg support its place in the leading group.
Reedley17–6Beat Kingsburg 16–5, then Sierra Pacific 22–10 and 14–5 on consecutive days. An earlier 14–11 win over Porterville keeps the top-three comparison close.
Bakersfield20–4Bounced back from a 13–7 loss to Garces Memorial with a 17–12 win over Frontier. Earlier wins over Kingsburg and Sierra Pacific support this position.
Kingsburg17–7Beat Sierra Pacific 15–14 before losing 16–5 to Reedley. Rebounded with an 18–3 win over Exeter; three wins over Sierra Pacific keep the Vikings ahead of the Golden Bears.
Sierra Pacific16–8Beat Exeter 15–6 between a one-goal loss to Kingsburg and two losses to Reedley. Its 14–13 win over Frontier still matters in this comparison.
Lemoore14–12Added a 16–14 win over Tulare Western before losses to Redwood and Golden West. Two wins over Whitney and two over Tulare Western preserve its position in a competitive middle group.
Frontier17–8Wins over Liberty, 19–6, and Ridgeview, 20–9, preceded a 17–12 loss to Bakersfield. Earlier wins over Tulare Western and Tulare Union support this spot.
Tulare Western13–11Moves up to No. 9 with newly posted 18–10 and 17–7 wins over Golden West. Those decisive head-to-head results strengthen its case, while losses to Lemoore and Porterville keep it below the top eight.
Mt. Whitney17–7Eight straight wins and an 8–0 league record keep the Pioneers ahead of Golden West, which they beat 9–7. Whitney moves down one place as Tulare Western strengthens its case with two decisive wins over the Trailblazers.
Golden West16–9Two wins over Lemoore remain valuable, but newly posted 18–10 and 17–7 losses to Tulare Western move the Trailblazers to No. 11. Whitney also holds a head-to-head win.
Hanford West13–10Now 4–0 in league after wins over Dinuba, 11–8, and Selma, 14–7, plus a posted Kerman forfeit. The overtime win over Sierra also supports this position.
Sierra (Tollhouse)12–14Beat Bullard 13–11, then lost 8–7 to San Joaquin Memorial and 11–8 to Edison. Its September win over Whitney remains notable, but recent form favors the Pioneers.
Mission Oak7–15The earlier Frontier upset and win over Golden West show its potential. Recent losses to Golden West, 13–10, and Porterville, 24–5, limit a move upward. The latest Redwood result is unreported.
Tulare Union13–13Three straight wins have brought Union to 7–1 in league, most recently 11–7 over Hanford. Its only league loss remains the 14–10 meeting with Whitney.
El Diamante8–11Sits third in West Yosemite at 4–4. The 15–5 loss at Whitney leaves the Miners on a two-game losing streak, but their league record keeps them ahead of Strathmore, Hanford and Monache.
Selma13–6Beat Kerman 16–4 and Dinuba 10–8 before losing 14–7 to Hanford West. Earlier wins over Exeter and Strathmore continue to support this position.
Exeter10–16Recent losses to Sierra Pacific, 15–6, and Kingsburg, 18–3, came against higher-ranked opponents. Two wins each over Monache and Strathmore retain weight.
Strathmore4–19Rebounded from the 17–5 loss to Whitney with a 19–5 win over Monache. The earlier 10–9 win over Hanford preserves a narrow edge in this comparison.
Hanford High6–17Beat Monache 9–8 before losing 11–7 to Tulare Union. Two wins over Monache support this spot; its split with Strathmore keeps those teams close.
Monache6–17Still seeking a first league win at 0–8 after losses to Hanford, 9–8, and Strathmore, 19–5. Earlier wins over Selma and Dinuba remain its strongest points in this group.
Dinuba12–12Beat Kerman 16–3 after competitive losses to Hanford West, 11–8, and Selma, 10–8. The earlier Exeter win keeps this group close, but losses to Hanford and Monache weigh against a move above them.
